“Perhaps as a result of my studies in biology, I often draw on nature, drawing shapes and suggestions from it.
While recalling natural elements, my research is oriented towards non-mimetic, often hybrid forms, in which nature and artifice merge. Through these images I investigate the relationship between human beings and nature, opposing the contemporary tendency to sever the link with it and compromise its balance.
Among the paintings I have dedicated to nature, many have as their protagonist a character indicated in the title as "idol". It is an ornithomorphic totemic figure, which symbolizes the ancient bond between human beings and nature.
The idol condenses in itself my vision of nature, translated into a sort of "ecology of the imagination" where memory, artifice and life are closely connected and where each form finds its own balance."
